Sharing a few pics

The pics below were taken with my new camera a couple days ago at the park. Jody thinks they are awesome. Of course, he is the daddy (and husband), so go figure that he's slightly biased. I'm too chicken to post them on the serious photography forum I visit, but I figured it was safe to post them here. ;)

Seriously though, I'm open to any and all constructive criticism. I won't learn if I don't know what to do differently. And I just have to say, it's so hard to get decent shots of a 16-month-old who is ALWAYS on the go (and loves to hold sticks - in front of her face no less!).

Thanks for looking. :)

I would have to say that the first and last are my favorites--the first because it has the unusual texturing, and the last because it really delves into Ava's spirit. And yes, I like them all :)

Great pictures!! I just noticed your comment to me on spookiez spot about living in michigan and the billboards. Lots of closed minded people here, nice to know someone understands! You should post your pics on Flickr, I have lots up there and I have a crappy 3.1 mega pixel camera, lol. I will check back for more pics, she is adorable :)

The last two are my favorite, although all of them look so adorable! I like the second-to-last because of the high contrast of light and you see the contours of her little face. And I like the last because of the composition -- the twig Ava's holding is dividing the picture right down the center and she's looking right in the camera. I also like the sepia filter. Nice job! :)

Don't have any constructive feedback as i am very much an amatuer photographer who just got my first digi-slr. They are great shots of a gorgeous girl though!

I love the lighting in the third and the textural contrast in the first.

They are all lovely, though.

I have nothing constructive because I love them all. My favorite are the first two, how did you get them to look blurry? (I mean that in a good way.) Is that something you do on the computer, or when you take the picture?

Thanks for all the comments. :)

Christina - glad to see ya stop in. Have you gotten a chance to take a pic of that billboard yet?

Tiffiny - the first one, i focused on ava, so the background is blurry. and the second one i ran an "action" in photoshop called midnight sepia to achieve that result. i love playing w/ pics in photoshop. :)
