Auntie is in the house

After more than two glorious years without AF (Aunt Flow, aka my period), she's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

I have mixed feelings about her return.

On one hand, I'm glad to know that I'm ovulating again, and whenever Jody and I decide that we want to start TTC (trying to conceive) again, I'll be uh, for lack of a better phrase, primed and ready. ;)

On the other hand, I've really enjoyed two years without having to worry about bleeding, pads, tampons, etc.

On the third hand ;), I'm ready to be done with pads and tampons and try out the DivaCup that I've heard so much about. LOL I know, it's pretty weird to be excited about something like that, but you already know I'm a little off. ;)

Between these last two posts, I think I've shared more than enough personal information for one day, so I'll go now. :oP

oh you lucky mama!! 2 years is a nice chunk of time to be without the evils of AF. I was one of the lucky ones and got mine 3 months after Holly was born. Good luck TTC when you decide to.

That isn't TMI...said from the woman who talks about uteruses and AF's too much :)

It seems that these days everyone is getting pregnant. I'm surrounded by pregnant ladies!

This diva cup sounds very interesting.

Okay, I was thinking "friggin' weird" and then I read all about it? I am almost conviced. Almost. Hard to change old habits.

I hope mine comes back soon, only and ONLY because I think that not having it is hindering me from losing my pregnancy weight gain. It's sooo frustrating to have this extra poundage on (30 of it!) and it won't go away no matter what I do. But I cannot eat a real restrictive diet yet anyway since I'm breastfeeding. Wah!

If Ava were still nursing and you got pregnant, would you still nurse her?

Heather, thank you! I think we're still a ways off before we start TTC.

Harmonia - thanks for the heads-up.

R2Ks - LOL You know I thought of you as I typed this post. ;)

Katy - I thought it was totally weird when I first heard about it too, but the more I learned, the more interested I've become.

Amy - I think you look great. The lbs will come off eventually. If I were to get pg while still nursing Ava, yes I would continue to nurse her (unless she self-weaned). As long as the mom is healthy, there's no reason to stop. I currently have, lemme count, four friends all pg w/ baby #2 and all still nursing their first child. And one who just had her 2nd baby and is now tandem nursing both kids. :) It might not be the norm in our society, but it can and is done. :)

Hello! I'm here via a very circuitous route that I'm not sure that I could replicate... Have enjoyed reading your blog... before I sound more like a spammer....
But am curious about the DivaCup -- I used "The Keeper" for almost 6 years until getting pregnant in 2004. I haven't needed to invest in the post-baby size and was planning to re-order a Keeper. However, I'm intrigued by this new-found product. Did you look at the Keeper? Best wishes with the DivaCup; like I said, I'm intrigued!

PinkShoes - I think the Diva is very similar, if not basically the same thing as the Keeper. My mom actually used to use a Keeper. Perhaps the newer generations like the Diva better because of the name or something. ;)

You probably don't remember this, but your mother bought and used a "Keeper" a long time ago (about 15 years ago) and thought it worked pretty well. Now where do you think you get your "offness" from? Glad you are back to "normal" and are thinking about making grandchild #2 for us. :0)

I used a Keeper for years. It was great. I even recommended it to my SIL when she went to Central America to do missionary work for six months. I think she's still loving it. I wonder how different the two products are. I'll have to check out the Diva Cup. Thanks...and no not too personal.

You know mine returned after two months and my daughter was exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months. I was not too pleased about that however it was just a minor inconvenience.

I use The Keeper. I started using it last year my only regret is that I did not start using it sooner.
