Quick post - no baby

I know there are quite a few of you regularly checking in, so this is just a quick post to say no baby. ;)
I did get a lot done today though and am feeling good. Ava and I baked oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies and a pumpkin pie (to freeze) for Thanksgiving. I did some laundry and cleaned a bathroom. And then my sister watched Ava for a bit so I could go get my haircut. :) I hadn't had it cut since July - eep! - and it was definitely in need. It's nothing fancy - a chin-length bob - but it feels good to have it "cleaned up" before baby boy gets here.
Oh, in other news, Ava has a cold now. Not good timing, but what can ya do? Hopefully she'll be well before the boy is born (and I won't catch it!).

Happy due date to me tomorrow. :-)

You know your readers well, Amy! I was just getting in some last minute work done on the computer and thought I'd check in real quick. I hope Ava gets better real soon -- would it be dangerous for a newborn being around a sick sibling?
I'm also sending you a quick email about something I saw on Oprah the other day that you'll find fascinating.

Thank you all. :)

Amy - I actually emailed a friend of mine (a former pediatric nurse) last night about the colds and potential for baby boy to get sick and here's what she said, among other things:
"Amy, I wold not worry AT ALL! First of all, the cold is now well established, so you are making antibodies against it that are going to baby boy. Secondly, colds are most contagious in the early stages and you're past that. I'm sure you are taking routine precautions (handwashing, not "swapping spit" etc.) Your colostrum will be full of antibodies, so you may wish to put a drop or two in baby's nose each day. That may help keep the virus from sticking to his nasal passages."
So I'm not going to stress about it, take precautions as needed and trust that my body/colostrum/milk will take care of the little guy when the time comes. :)
I haven't had a chance to chk out the Oprah thing yet, but a friend posted about it on a msg board I belong to too. Sounds interesting.

Hi Amy, we met on Mothering DDC - my duedate is today as well - still no baby! I thought I would check in on you too! I am ready any day now! I hope she arrives before thanksgiving for sure! My help is here until then...Kyle is ready to be a big brother as well - he keeps saying baby sister is running out of room & should pop out - good advice! I commend you for extended bfing. We completely weaned at 25 mos - 6 mos preg. pretty mutually happy which was nice. Now he says baby sister eats nana - I'm a big kid & drink milk out of a cup. I wish you all the best with your homebirth. We are going to a new birth center in Glenwood. Sending birthing waves your way!! Heather / kylesmama

Heather - Thanks for checking in with me. Sorry to hear you are still waiting for baby on your due date too. The waiting is getting harder and harder now.
I'm glad you and Kyle were able to find a good solution for weaning. Sounds like he's doing well with it.
Best wishes for a peaceful birth for you too! Hope neither of us has to wait much longer. I know I am ready! :)
